Balint Charities, Inc. currently supports two programs: Barb’s Books and Fran’s Bands. Through these programs, we provide books and musical instruments to young children who might not otherwise have access to them. Our goal is to encourage a love of reading and music from an early age while giving children opportunities to learn, explore, and develop the confidence that comes from discovering something new.

Evidence suggests that early exposure to books and music can support children’s language, cognitive, and social development and help build a strong foundation for future learning. Through our programs, we provide books and musical instruments to schools identified by state or local agencies as having a need for additional resources. We also support organizations such as Reach Out and Read, which works through pediatric healthcare settings to encourage families to read together and make reading a regular part of life at home.
By expanding access to books and music during the early years, we hope to help more children discover the joy of learning and develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive.
